The Niles Times is your paper

June 13, 2012
By KATHLEEN EVANOFF The Niles Times , Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

The Niles Times is always looking for ways to better serve your community with news, photos and announcements of events that are taking place right here in our own local communities.

In addition to announcing these events in The Niles Times, we would also love to publish photos of these events and celebrations. There are several ways to submit your news to us.

In this issue of The Niles Times, you will find information about the community's revitalization group, The Avenue and Main, including photos of volunteers planting flowers on Robbins Avenue. You may recognize local residents who have told us their stories including Richard Garbus and his renovated 1956 Chevy or Leonard Bean's 90th birthday party celebration. You will find a list of long- married couples who will be honored at a celebratory Mass later this month by Bishop George Murry and you will see what the Niles Senior Center square dancers have been up to at courthouse park in Warren.

These are examples of the type of community news The Niles Times would like our readers to submit to us for publication.

Digital photos can be emailed to editor@niles times.com, or press releases and photos can be submitted to us through the virtual newsroom directly by using the website, www.tribtoday.com and click on the link ''submit your news'' on the right hand side of the home page. This link will take you to a list of available categories and The Niles Times has its own page for submitting your photos and articles.

We also accept faxed press releases, although photos can not be reproduced from a fax and must be either emailed or submitted through the virtual newsroom.

In future issues of The Niles Times, we also hope to include guest columns from city officials, sports coaches, clubs and organizations and other community leaders who would like to keep residents informed as to what is going on within your communities.

On page two of every issue, you will find our contact information. Please don't hesitate to call for more information about how to send us your community news.
