WARREN - The 200th anniversary celebration marking the day the first newspaper was published in Trumbull County is underway at Warren's Courthouse Square Park.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony a short time ago, in which Warren Mayor Doug Franklin, Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka and Tribune Chronicle publisher Charles Jarvis welcomed the crowd and spoke briefly about the Tribune Chronicle's past and future.

The event with historic displays, exhibits and talks, along with arts and entertainment, will continue until 4 p.m. today and again from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. All events are free and open to the public in Courthouse Square Park.
