A new Gold Star Mothers sign was posted at the Ravenna Warren Road and state Route 5 intersection. Chris Wortman of Champion, mother of the late Marine Sgt. Robert Carr, was present for Thursday's ceremony. Carr, 22, a specialist with the 1506th Infantry Battalion stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, was killed in March 2007 after a vehicle he was driving rolled over an improvised explosive device. He was serving his second tour in Iraq.
