CORTLAND - Alfred L. "Kelly" Kelly, 82, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at Lake Vista Nursing Home in Cortland.
He was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Morgantown, W.Va., the son of Herbert and Winifred Simmonds Kelly.
He was employed as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and then as a machinist at Grinnell Manufacturing for 18 years. He was of the Catholic faith, a member of Warren Moose and a volunteer for Cats are People Too.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Hazel Tomana Kelly, whom he married Sept. 7, 1948, two sons, Michael (Linda) Kelly of Vienna and Mark Kelly of Fairmont, W.Va.; a daughter, Kathryn Kelly of Punxsutawney, Pa.; three grandchildren, Erica (Dane) Wisnesky, Lisa Kelly and Cameron Miller; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Emily and Trenton.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Miller, and an infant sister, Frieda Kelly.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Kish officiating.
Burial will be at Meadowbrook Cemetery, Champion, where Kelly will be honored for his military service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
