CHAMPION - Glenn W. King, 96, entered peacefully into rest at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, in Hospice House in Poland.
Glenn was born the son of the late William and Lula Parker King Dec. 31, 1915, in Warren, and was a lifelong Trumbull County resident.
He had been employed at Copperweld Steel for 39 years, retiring from his duties in 1981. Glenn attended St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Cortland and had served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II.
Glenn was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.
On Aug. 12, 1940, he was united into marriage with the former Matilda Polena, and they shared 71 loving years together. His memories will be remembered and cherished by those he dearly leaves behind: his wife, Matilda King of Champion; a son, Robert J. King of Vienna; two daughters, Denise (Ted) Webb of Bazetta and Christine (Lauren) Bechtol of Bryan; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patricia A. King; and two brothers, Burdett and George King.
Private services are being held.
