Mr. and Mrs. Ted Paxson of Lordstown celebrated their 50th anniversary with their children and grandchildren at the beaches in Clearwater, Fla., with a weeklong celebration where they were treated to cookouts, a boat trip on the Chassahowitzka River, and dinner at the Rockaway Grill on the beach.
Ted Paxson and the former Sarah Lynix were married March 31, 1962, in Cleveland. They are lifelong residents of Lordstown.
Mr. Paxson retired from Thomas Steel Strip Corp. in 2002 after 36 years of service. He worked for the Lordstown Parks Department for the next five years.

Mrs. Paxson worked for Lordstown Schools as a bus driver for 28 years.
The couple is active in their church and various Masonic groups. They also enjoy camping and spending time with their family.
They have three children, Diane Brewster of Colorado Springs, Colo., Laura Lindquist of Doylestown, and Philip Paxson of Clearwater, Fla. They also have five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
