Find a way to plug potholes

May 21, 2012

The Ohio Department of Transportation's major repairs to the Warren Boulevard bridge that spans the Ohio Central Rail line will certainly smooth things out for local commuters. This is one of many road construction projects in Warren this year.

But still not being addressed are the many potholes that riddle some of the city's roads. Pine Avenue S.W., Main Avenue S.W., Harvard Drive and Parkman Road are among the many streets with bumps and holes that jolt travelers daily. Some of these are downright atrocious.

The major projects being performed this year are almost entirely paid for with state and federal grants. There's simply no good reason Warren can't find enough money for a regular program to plug some of its embarrassing potholes.
