Campbell to get Clean Ohio funds

CAMPBELL - Campbell will receive $1.9 million in Clean Ohio Revitalization funds for demolition and remediation work on property northwest of the Walton Avenue Bridge over the Mahoning River.

Sherman International Corporation plans to develop an on-site industrial facility, Sherman Metals Technologies, LLC. The company will supply thin gauge steel in support of the construction, automobile, white goods and HVAC industries.

The project is expected to create 300 jobs. The funds will be used to remediate impacted soils, remove asbestos and general waste and demolish existing buildings.

The award was one of 11 exceeding $19 million approved by the Clean Ohio Council approved for brownfield cleanup projects.
