The engagement and upcoming wedding of Abby Carmella Chandler and Shawn Nathan Brainard are being announced by the couple and their families.
The bride-elect is the daughter of William and Carol Chandler of Champion. Parents of the groom-elect are Gary Brainard of Hartford and Dolores Brainard of Greenville, Pa.
Miss Chandler, a graduate of Champion High School, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing from Kent State University and will graduate in December.

Mr. Brainard graduated from Badger High School. He is serving in the United States Marine Corps stationed with VMMT-204 at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, N.C.
The couple will be united in marriage during a wedding ceremony to be held Oct. 20, 2012, at St. William Church in Champion. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and a reception to follow at the Mahoning Country Club in Girard.
