Baseball

CUYAHOGA HEIGHTS 6, MAPLEWOOD 5: EUCLID - Maplewood committed four errors that led to five unearned runs in losing this Division IV district semifinal. Matt Spitler scored the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning for the Rockets (18-12), but Zander doubled in the tying and winning runs with a double in the bottom half. Spitler finished with two hits and drove in a pair of runs and Austin Brunstetter led Maplewood with three hits. Zander and Kozak each had two RBIs for Cuyahoga Heights (25-3).

RITTMAN 9, WINDHAM 1: BARBERTON - Cameron Pozsgai and Parker Rickey had the only hits for Windham in this Division IV district semifinal. Kowalski struck out five in the loss for the Bombers (11-12). Horner had 14 strikeouts in pitching a complete game for Rittman (18-9).

HARDING 10, BEDFORD 5: WARREN - Brock Bogan struck out nine and added a pair of hits for Harding. Dylan Pflager had three hits and four RBIs and Alex Fitzgerald drove in a pair of runs for the Raiders (15-11).

Softball

WESTERN RESERVE 7, HOWLAND 3: HOWLAND - Western Reserve prepared for its Division IV district semifinal Thursday against Columbiana with a victory over Howland. Alexis Lude had four RBIs to lead the Blue Devils (21-5).

GARFIELD 12, WINDHAM 2: GARRETTSVILLE - Leanne Schaffer pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts for Garfield. Shelby Baughman, Katie Kaiser and Darian Roberts each had two RBIs for the G-Men (11-13, 9-3).
