JACKSON - Glenn Johnson will serve as United Auto Workers Local 1112's first new president in 15 years, while Ben Strickland will serve his fourth term as shop chairman, after winning election Tuesday.

Johnson, who was vice president, will replace Jim Graham, who is retiring after a record five straight terms as president of the 3,400-member local at the General Motors Lordstown Complex assembly plant.

Johnson outpolled Joel Albrecht for the position. Strickland defeated Brian E. Ferrett and Craig "Whitty" Whitman for shop chairman.

Raye Ohl and Tim O'Hara will vie for the vice presidency in a 24 hour runoff election ending at 5 a.m. on Tuesday. Officers will be sworn in May 20.
