VERNON - Detectives continued investigating allegations that an 11-year-old boy was held down by seven friends and sodomized early Saturday during a slumber party.
Trumbull County Sheriff's Maj. Tom Stewart said Tuesday that detectives interviewed the final four boys who were at the party Saturday.
He said investigators also must wait for reports from Akron Children's Hospital in Boardman before deciding if they will file criminal charges against the eight boys suspected in the attack.
Reports said the boy went to the party Friday in the 7000 block of state Route 7.
The boy's mother discovered her son had permanent marker written on him when she picked him up about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
The boy said he was awakened about 3 a.m. Saturday to seven boys - friends and classmates at Badger Elementary School - holding him down. He said the another boy sodomized him.
Reports said the boy fought off the others, who then ran away laughing. He told deputies he wanted to tell the parents at the home but couldn't find their bedroom. He said he decided to stay away from the other boys until his mother came to pick him up. He also told deputies he was unaware he had permanent marker drawn on him.
The markings, made on the boy's arms, leg and back, include one that points an arrow to the boy's buttocks
The boy told his mother he was in pain and was taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital's emergency room. He was then sent to Akron Children's in Boardman, reports said.
The boy's father has called for the children to face criminal charges.
