Warren group sets cleanup

ASSOCIATION SETS CLEANUP: The Historic Perkins Homestead Neighborhood Association cleanup will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Mahoning and Belmont avenues. Those helping can bring gloves and bags.

STUFFED ANIMALS TO SPEND NIGHT: A stuffed animal sleepover will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Howland Branch Library, 9095 E. Market St. Children in preschool to first grade can bring a stuffed animal to spend the night at the library. When children pick it up the next day, they will receive photos of all the fun the toys had at their library sleepover. Registration required by calling 330-856-2011.

PARENT ASSOCIATION TO MEET: The Warren G. Harding Parent-Teacher Student Association will meet at 6 p.m. today in the media center. Plans will be discussed to finalize Teacher Appreciation Week. Election of officers was held with Virginia Simpson, president; Alicia Daniels, vice president; Kathy Woods, secretary; and Joan Fowley, treasurer.

SPRING CARNIVAL SET AT SCHOOL: The Newton Falls Elementary School ABC Club will be holding its annual spring carnival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the school gymnasium. There will be carnival games, prizes, raffle, a bounce house and a police cruiser. Raffle tickets and game tickets can be purchased the night of the event.

EVENT TO BENEFIT PARK RESTORATION: The Ravenna Arsenal 5K will be held at 10 a.m. May 12 at the Ravenna Arsenal access on South Main Street with parking at Windham High School, 9530 Bauer Ave. Proceeds will benefit the Windham Park restoration. Prizes will be awarded. Those who pre-register by Friday pay $30 per walker/runner and $20 per child 10 and younger. Checks are to be made payable to Windham Park Restoration Committee, 9858 Wolfe Road, Windham, OH 44288. For information, call Deann at 330-766-3477.

CHURCH HOLDS GIVEAWAY: First Christian Assembly, 3243 Cardinal Drive, Liberty, will hold its Showers of Blessings clothing giveaway and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

RESERVATIONS NEEDED FOR SENIOR EVENT: No reservations will be taken after Friday to attend the Spring Fling Austintown Senior Citizens appreciation event at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Austintown Middle School Cafeteria. Reservations can be made by calling 330-798-3900, Ext. 1501. Cost is $2 at the door.
