WARREN - The labor contract for about 350 members of Service Employees International Union District 1199 and ValleyCare Health System of Ohio has been temporarily extended until 11:59 p.m. May 11, a union spokesman said Monday.
The first extension of the pact, which expired March 31, had been scheduled to expire last night, but bargainers made some progress in talks, SEIU's Anthony Caldwell said.
One more bargaining session is set for May 8, he said.
"Workers are still concerned about staff retention and patient care, but we remain hopeful we will reach an agreement," he said.
