WARREN - Huntington announced Thursday the opening of branches in eight Giant Eagles, including five in Trumbull County.
The bank branches, which will create 40-plus jobs, will be in Giant Eagle grocery stores on Elm Road and Jamestown Village in Warren; East Market Street in Howland; Vienna Road in Niles; and Belmont Avenue in Liberty, along with Canfield, Poland and Boardman.
The branches will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for a total of 75 hours per week.
The company in May 2011 opened Giant Eagle branches in Boardman and Austintown and plans to open at least 40 Giant Eagle locations in Ohio this year.
The offices are part of Huntington's exclusive, 15-year agreement announced in fall 2010 to install bank branches in at least 106 Giant Eagle supermarkets in Ohio and West Virginia, the company said.
Noting the Giant Eagle branches are an important part of Huntington's strategy to provide customers convenience, Frank Hierro, Huntington regional president of the Mahoning Valley area, said, "We look forward to improving the overall shopping experience for Giant Eagle customers."
