CORTLAND - Doris Eleanor Newhouse, 86, of Cortland, died Friday, April 6, 2012, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Girard, the daughter of W. Albert and Helen C. Huston Maggs.
Doris retired from St. Joseph Health Center, Warren, has head nurse in surgery.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Lynn Newhouse of Warren; a son, James Scott Newhouse of Cortland; a sister, Ruth Kaulback; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Norman Newhouse, and a sister.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Cortland United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were made at Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel.
