Mary J. Hatfield 1912-2012

LAS VEGAS - Mary J. Hatfield, 99, formerly of Warren, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Heights of Summerlin Home in Las Vegas.

She was born, Sept. 6, 1912, in Greensburg, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Mary Kush Yontz.

Mary loved to play bingo, bowl and travel. As a hobby, she collected and sold glassware and collectibles at the Austintown Flea Market.

Mary was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warren. In 2001, she moved to Las Vegas to live with her daughter and son-in-law and continued to enjoy all that Las Vegas offered.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Sharon (Richard) Kale of Las Vegas; sons, Lester (Lois) Hatfield of Port Charlotte, Fla., Milton "Butch" (Nancy) Hatfield of Las Vegas and Edward Hatfield of South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Kathy Tychonievich; a sister, Sophie Balk; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Lester Hatfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Harry Silver; a daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hatfield; her sisters, Anne Yontz, Rose Gibson and Kathryn Hoover; and brothers, Joseph, George and John Yontz.

Calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again one hour prior to services at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
