Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Glowacki will celebrate their 65th anniversary with an afternoon reception in their honor to be held from 2 to 4 p.m. April 28 at the Greene Church of the Nazarene, located on the corner of state routes 46 and 87 in Greene.
Shirley W. Glowacki and the former Agnes Harper were married April 4, 1947, in Ludlow, Ky. They are lifelong residents of Greene.
Mr. Glowacki is a World War II veteran who served on a destroyer in the Atlantic and on a submarine in the Pacific. He was employed at Wean Industries until his retirement in 1982.

Mrs. Glowacki is a graduate of Hiram College and taught school in Trumbull County, retiring from Howland Schools in 1983.
They also have been involved in farming in Greene from 1948 until the present.
The couple has one son, Gary of Euclid, and three daughters, Joyce and Sheila Glowacki of Greene and Wanda Carmon of Windsor, Conn. They also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
