DEAR EDITOR:
There is a project, currently in progress, that is of importance to me personally and is important to the beauty of the city of Warren. That project is called Gregg's Gardens.
Gregg's Gardens is a project whereby vacant lots on Atlantic Street from Mahoning Avenue to Harding High School will be tilled and wild flower gardens will be planted. The purpose is to bring beauty to the city along Atlantic Street. The gardens will bloom with the wild flowers during much of the spring, summer and fall.
The Gregg's Gardens project is especially significant to me as the project is named after and is in memory of my son, Gregg Snyder, who passed away last September. Gregg loved the city and being in the downtown area. He was proud of Warren and wanted to make it a better and more attractive place. The gardens project will help to do just those things.
First, I would like to thank all those individuals, companies and organizations who have had any part in the growth of Gregg's Gardens. These include the organizers, planners and donors to the project. I will not name them here as I do not wish to miss any of these wonderful people.
Secondly, I would urge anyone interested in finding out more about this project and how to help or donate to go to the website created called GreggsGardens.org. There they can find out more about this project - its progress, many of those persons, companies and organizations involved, and how to make a donation, large or small, to Gregg's Gardens. Hopefully Gregg's Gardens can be expanded beyond Atlantic Street into other areas of Warren.
Finally, perhaps Gregg's Gardens can provide impetus for other such projects in Warren that will make our city a better place of natural beauty.
