A Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Sam Shepard is the next production in the Griffith-Adler Series at the Youngstown Playhouse.

''Buried Child'' is a domestic drama with universal themes as a man and his girlfriend return to his grandparents' homestead after years away. There he finds family members damaged by circumstance, by each other and by the memory of that buried child.

The play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979, when it played Off-Broadway, and a production that originated at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater in 1995 moved to Broadway in 1996 and was nominated for five Tony Awards.

Playhouse executive director Mary Ruth Lynn directs a cast featuring Sam Perry, Molly Galano, David El'Hatton, Johnny Pecano, Ryan Newell, Kate Starling and Bill Finley.

''Buried Child'' will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and April 20-21 in the Moyer Room of the Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and senior citizens. For reservations or more information, call 330-788-8739.
