WARREN - Ralph F. Gaudio, 89, of Youngstown Warren Road, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at Wade Park Veterans Administration Hospital.
Ralph was born April 8, 1922, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Angnes Santangelo Gaudio.
He was of the Catholic faith, attended the Youngstown schools, was self-employed for most of his lifetime, and cared for his autistic grandson Andre for 28 years.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 3rd Infantry. He will be remembered for telling you "how it was."
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Bullers; and three sisters, Rose Luchison, Mary Cervello and Margaret "Kelly" Borts.
Ralph is survived by his two daughters, Claudia J. Apostolakis of Howland and Linda Ellinos of Boardman; a son, Louis Gaudio of California; a brother, Anthony Gaudio; his wife, Tina of Boardman; two sisters, Teresa Colucci of Austintown and Helen Benson; and seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. Saturday service at the Robert P. McDermott Memorial Home, where Mr. Gaudio will be honored for his dedication and service to his country by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
Burial will be in the Veteran Section of Niles City Cemetery.
