SAFETY COURSE OFFERED: The National Safety Council, Northern Ohio Chapter is sponsoring a basic life support course for healthcare and professional rescuers, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 4, at the chapter house, 25 E. Boardman St. Ste. 343, Youngstown. Course meets CDC, OSHA and NFPA guidelines, as well as current CPR and ECC guidelines.

PARENTS OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES TO MEET: Parents of Students with Disabilities Support and Information Group will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. April 4, at the Austintown Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown.
The topic will be "Is Your Child a Target of Bullying?" the second in a series of informational meetings for parents, surrogate parents and educators of children with disabilities presented by the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities.

MENDED HEARTS TO MEET: Mended Hearts, Chapter 7, a heart support group for heart survivors and their families will meet at 7 p.m. on March 28 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, Boardman Campus, in the Azalea Room. CENTER TO HOLD MONTHLY DANCE: The Nicholson Center, 1240 N. Main St., Niles, will hold its monthly dance from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 30, with the theme "March Madness." All those participating are asked to wear their favorite college team attire. The cost of entrance is $2 per person or for free entrance, a donation of canned goods to the Warren Family Mission will be accepted. The dance is open to adults who attend any day habilitation service in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
The Nicholson Center is a nonprofit agency that proudly works with adults with developmental disabilities.
NAMI CLASSES AVAILABLE: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Family-to-Family education classes 2012 spring session will be held:
Mondays through April 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Forum Health, North Side, Medical Education Building, Classroom A.
Fridays, through May 4, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren.
A minimum of 10 people is needed to hold the class. Classes will be limited to the first 22 people who register. Additional names will be added to the waiting list. Registration is required.

STRONG BONES-STRONG PEOPLE PROGRAM - This is a free, 12-week program of personalized strength training and nutritional education for those who have osteoporosis, low bone density or are at risk to improve muscle strength and nutrition.
WEIGHT MANAGEMENT THROUGH STRENGTH TRAINING - Join for $20 a month. Nutrition classes are held once a month on diet and behavior modification. Registration is required.
FITNESS TIME WITH LANA EDDY-CAMPFIELD - 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. and 9:45 to 10 a.m. (various days). This is a weekly group exercise program with a personal fitness trainer.

The information presented in the One-Day Childbirth Class is the same as that of the two-week series, but it is addressed at a faster pace. The cost of the class is $50.
