Actions speak louder than words

DEAR EDITOR:

Vice President Biden visited the Toledo Chrysler plant recently. He talked about the $85 billion auto bailout and said the administration wants to "strengthen middle-class security" in a country "where hard work pays off, responsibility is rewarded and everyone plays by the same set of rules."

That's insulting to Delphi salaried retirees whose pensions were cut 30-70 percent by the Obama administration's actions. The Obama administration made a political choice and used our tax dollars to help some while kicking to the curb those they considered too weak to fight back, and they could do that to anybody else they feel is weak.

That is the real Obama administration in spite of what they say. In fact, in 2008, then-candidate Obama said "Pension protection is something we should put at the top of our priority list. ... If a company goes bankrupt, then workers need to be our top priority, not an afterthought."

Politicians' actions speak much louder than their words. If you are part of a large and powerful group, then believe what he says. If not then he doesn't think you matter anyway. They did it to the Delphi retirees; they can do it to others, too.
