G&G Wireless pays overtime violations

WARREN - G&G Wireless Solutions stores in Howland, Austintown and Canfield paid $11,237 to 17 workers to settle an overtime pay investigation, a U.S. Department of Labor spokesman said Monday.

The stores, which are licensed Sprint dealers, paid overtime after 80 hours in a two-week pay period instead of 40 hours per week, said Scott Allen, spokesman with the labor department's regional office in Chicago.

Some workers were misclassified as exempt from overtime pay, he said. The stores also were cited for not keeping accurate records of hours.

All the back wages have been paid, and the company has agreed to comply in the future, effectively closing the case, Allen said.

A Sprint spokesman said the company doesn't comment on personnel matters.
