WARREN - Four new businesses with a total projected investment of more than $1.2 million are coming to Warren, three of them on the store-poor west side.

The most visible one for now is a Family Dollar being built on the corner of West Market Street and Parkman Road S.W. Building Inspector Chris Taneyhill said the store's permit values it at $500,000.

Another Family Dollar store is planned on the site of the Golden Gate restaurant at 2186 Parkman Road N.W. which will be demolished.

No information on that store was available.

O'Reilly Auto Parts is planning two stores, one in a former video outlet at 2320 Parkman Road N.W., and the other at 4468 Youngstown Road S.E., where the JD Byrider used car building was torn down.

Renovation at the Parkman Road location was put at $140,160, while construction of a building, plus improvements, on Youngstown Road was valued at $505,750, according to Warren records.

O'Reilly spokesman Mark Merz said the Parkman Road store tentatively is scheduled to open in a month. He said the stores typically employ eight to 12 full- and part-time workers, with the number at the lower end for a new store.

He said he had no information on a possible Youngstown Road store.
