DEAR EDITOR:
A big thank-you to Gen On for finally moving to close the Niles coal fired power plant. No one knows exactly who will be spared an early health complication including respiratory disease, heart disease or cancer by this closing, just that there will be more healthy families here in Northeast Ohio.
Next, Gen On needs to do right by its workers and their communities by helping them transition to jobs in energy efficiency, wind and solar as other Ohio power companies are doing today.
And with 40 percent of our energy literally going out our roofs and windows, there is much that can be done to keep our area moving strong into the future.
