WARREN - The Tribune Chronicle has appointed Scott Gee as its production manager.
Hired in April 2006 as mailroom manager, Gee, 30, retains those duties and adds responsibility for the pressroom, where he will direct the printing and insertion of the Tribune Chronicle and all affiliated publications, along with the printing and insertion of the Star Beacon of Ashtabula.
"Scott has been in charge of our preprint packaging department for the past six years and has done a tremendous job with improving quality and timeliness of our preprint operation," Tribune Chronicle General Manager F. Len Blose said.
Blose noted Gee holds the company-wide record of 439 consecutive days of "On Time" production.
Blose added that, since the pressroom and mailroom work in tandem, "having Scott oversee our entire print production schedule makes perfect sense.
"I am happy that Scott has accepted this important position with our newspaper. Scott is talented beyond his years, and the Tribune production departments are in good hands under his leadership. Scott has been and will continue to be an asset to our newspaper," he said.
Gee called his appointment "a great opportunity," adding his goal is to ''focus on the quality of the newspaper for both our readers and our advertisers.''
Gee came to the Tribune Chronicle from the Post Journal in Jamestown, N.Y. Both of his parents, Andrew and Janice Gee, have newspaper careers in Jamestown, N.Y., and Dunkirk, N.Y., respectively.
The newspapers, along with the Tribune Chronicle, are owned by Ogden Newspaper Inc., based in Wheeling, W.Va.
Gee and his wife, Nicole, along with children Ryan and Nicholas, live in Cortland.
