Election is all about the money

DEAR EDITOR:

Used to be if you did not do your job you were fired. You cannot fire a politician, you have to wait until his or her term is up, and it takes too long to impeach.

It is that time again to vote. Money that these people have raised to get elected or re-elected could feed, clothe and shelter every person in this country for years, and this money is used to slander or really just be mean to someone and to see who can be the most disgusting. Actually, it is a form of bullying. Isn't that what we are trying to teach children not to do?

Money is pouring in from all over, millionaires and billionaires for these super PACs. Then we have to listen over and over to their endless speeches that say nothing and accomplish less. And then they want me to vote for one of them and respect them as a leader of this country. Are they kidding me?

These people are only good for getting rid of the middle class, taxing people literally to their death, taking away people's pensions with no explanation - excuse me, except theirs, which is guaranteed and written in stone. And they still think they know what is best for America and its citizens.

Government wants into every aspect of our lives. This has to stop. I read the story of a teacher taking a child's lunch away from her and told her to eat the food in the school cafeteria. That teacher would regret meeting me. No one would have told me what to feed my child in school. This government needs to back off of our freedom.

The younger generation better wake up or maybe they need or like being told what to do, how to do it, when to do it and if they should do it. I, at 63, never needed anyone telling me how to think. These politicians neither walk in our shoes, nor do they live in our neighborhoods, but they want our vote.

Too bad people cannot run for president on merit, their character, accomplishments even their faults, list them, then I can make a decision based on that. But it is all about the money. How much does your vote really count in this election?
