DEAR EDITOR:
I was in the grocery store and noticed the people in front of me had a free food card from the government, which we taxpayers pay for.
There was one package of some sort of meat, two big bags of a brand-name potato chips, and other junk. Then they had money to buy scratch-offs at the lottery machine.
This isn't the first time I have seen this. Anything that is edible except pre-cooked food can be bought. This is ridiculous. I've seen some people go over their limit, and take out the meat and keep the junk food.
Then they all get heart disease or something, then Medicaid pays for that. If they get fruit or vegetables. They always have money for cigarettes. What a world we live in.
