Trumbull County's housing market started the year with a slight improvement in unit sales and median price over January 2011.
A total 93 dwellings were sold in January versus 85 a year ago, the Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors reported Wednesday. The median price was $55,000 compared to $49,500. Houses spent a total 108 days on the market before selling, better than 122 days last year.
Mahoning County home sales in January-December rose to 125 from 98 in the year-ago month. The median price improved to $62,500 from $61,000. Houses spent a total of 82 days on the market compared to 97 a year ago.
