People on Medicaid would not agree

February 19, 2012
Tribune Chronicle | TribToday.com

DEAR EDITOR:

I read your article dated Jan. 18, 2012, on joining services is a logical move.

This program consists of combining two programs. One being Medicare which is paid for by the people when they work as a separate tax. They also pay at least $99.40 every month from their Social Security checks.

The other program is supported by the federal and state governments and is called Medicaid. People on Medicaid do not pay anything for this program. No money from their paychecks and no monthly charges of $99.40 like people on Social Security.

I for one do not agree and I think anyone on Social Security will not agree.
