Lacey Schmitt and Michael Barahona were united in marriage during a wedding ceremony held Sept. 30, 2011, in Canyonside Courtyard at Starved Rock State Park in Utica, Ill. Officiating the ceremony was the Rev. Duane Kaufman.
A reception was held following the ceremony at Deer Park Country Club in Oglesby, Ill.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Joan Schmitt, both of Streator, Ill. Parents of the groom are Marilyn Vuletich of Youngstown and Miguel Barahona of Miami, Fla.

Shelly Huseman attended the bride as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Melanie LeRette, cousin of the bride; Melissa Barahona, sister of the groom; and Jackie Castillo, Gina Brace, Jenni Hernandez and Anchal Karkera. Jacqueline LeRette, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.
Performing the duties of best man for his brother was Mark Barahona. Groomsmen were Erik Schmitt, brother of the bride; and Ben Scheppman, Adam Roman, Brett Fidram, David Heberling, Dave Brace, Kendrick Thomas and Frankie Martin. Aden Mehle, nephew of the groom, and Samuel LeRette, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearers.
The new Mrs. Barahona is a 2000 graduate of Streator Township High School. She attended Rockford College and graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in veterinary technology. She is employed as a licensed veterinary technician at an animal hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Barahona graduated from Austintown Fitch High School and Rockford College with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He is pursuing a master's degree in sports exercise psychology. He is an admissions representative for South University.
Following a honeymoon to the Riviera Maya, the couple resides in Cranberry Township, Pa.
