The engagement and upcoming marriage of Mechee' Marie Gasparek and Jeffrey David Thomas are being announced by the bride-elect's parents, Darius and Tressa Gasparek of Boardman.
Parents of the groom-elect are Nina and Jim Thomas of Niles.
Miss Gasparek graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor of science degree and graduated from Akron University with a master of education degree. She is employed by Dental Works in Niles.

Mr. Thomas graduated from the Union Carpenter Apprenticeship program and is employed as a union carpenter for Mascaro Construction in Girard.
The couple will be united in marriage during a wedding ceremony to be held May 12, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Boardman. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and a reception to be held at DiLucia's in Warren.
