Christie Preston and Christopher DiGiovanni were united in marriage during an outdoor wedding ceremony held Sept. 25, 2011, on Goat Island in Newport, R.I.
A reception was held in the Grand Ballroom at Hyatt on Goat Island.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Becky Preston of Narragansett, R.I. Parents of the groom are Joseph and Terra DiGiovanni of Warren.

Bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Healey, Toni Auliello and Alexis Gianforcaro. Eva DiGiovanni and Hannah Preston served as flower girls.
Performing the duties of groomman were Donnie Spence, Keith Smith and brother of the bride Dan Preston. Ringbearer was cousin Ashton Jules Espinoza.
The new Mrs. DiGiovanni graduated from University of Rhode Island with her master's in speech language pathology. She is employed as a speech language pathologist in Providence, R.I.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Boatswains Mate Christopher DiGiovanni is serving in the U.S. Coast Guard and is based out of Newport, R.I.
The couple will honeymoon at a later date in Hawaii. They reside in Narragansett, R.I.
