TALENT SHOW: MacKenzie Sturgeon and Ryan Baker, seniors from Howland High School, are hosting a talent / entertainment show at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road N.E., to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. There will be local bands performing, drumline, a wing-eating contest and other events. Tickets are $5 at the door and $3 in advance.

GIVING TREE NAMED FOR WOMAN: The Christmas Giving Tree program at the Unity Centre for Spiritual Living in Liberty has been renamed Sarah's Giving Tree to memorialize the founder of the program, Sarah Tomerlin. She and her husband, Jack Tomerlin, both served on Unity Centre's Board of Directors, and her daughter, Cay Tomerlin, currently serves as associate minister.

This is the 14th year Unity members, working in conjunction with Niles Community Services, have purchased presents for children named on tags hung on a Christmas tree in the lobby. Niles Community Services will give 1,240 children presents provided by many groups and churches as part of the program.
