BOYS: VIDEO GAMES VS. STUDYING

December 20, 2011

There are ratings on video games for a reason.

Most elementary school boys buy the games that are rated E for Everyone whereas the teenage boys buy the games that are rated M for Mature.

Usually, the games that are rated E are kid-friendly and don't have profanity or violence in them. However, when men buy the M games, it's all profanity and violence.

Games such as "Call of Duty" and "Grand Theft Auto." "Grand Theft Auto" has weaponry, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, sex, mild violence, excessive profanity, robberies and parts where you can shoot a cop and get away with it.

On "Call of Duty," there are guns, mild violence and profanity that is more excessive. Many older boys have little brothers or sisters that watch them play these games - they are introduced to it at a very young age.

Many kids find it OK to do drugs or shoot people and rob stores because they see it on video games. Many get away with it.

Some of the violence on video games leads to violence in school.

Nowadays, you can get drugs and alcohol from anywhere and these kids don't even know what they are doing to themselves.

Oh, and waiting in line for two hours to get "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" is just a COMPLETE waste of time. Many people I know got the game at midnight and stayed up ALL night playing it and didn't go to school the next day!

That shows that video games are more important than education! RIDICULOUS!

Where are the parents???

What happened to studying for a test or reading a book?

Books are GREAT and studying brings up your grades! They're better than looking at a TV screen for hours at a time and messing up your eyesight and learning nothing but how to shoot people.

You can learn from a book, too. It expands your imagination. I would love to finally see more books open or at least a video game that has an E rating on the front other than an M rating.

I never see G ratings anymore. Everyone is all for the violence and drug use.

OPEN A BOOK AND STUDY!
