VIENNA - Jeremy Quinlan prefers to save his 3-pointers on an as-needed basis.
The 6-foot-3 junior usually wanders beyond the arc and pops in a triple to lift Brookfield past an opponent during the fourth quarter.
He did that more than a week ago as his 3-pointer help vault the Warriors past Pymatuning Valley.

Tuesday, Quinlan didn't wait until the final quarter. He was 6 of 7 from 3-point range in the first half as the Brookfield junior pushed the Warriors out to a 17-point lead at intermission and a 77-61 victory at Mathews High School.
"It was a shock to me," said Quinlan, who had a game-high 24 points. "I never come out making 3s all the time."
Mathews was 5 of 10 from 3-point range at halftime, while Brookfield was 7 of 11. Brookfield was 30 of 51 from the floor and Mathews was 22 of 51.
Mathews coach Jason Lee said Quinlan was a difference maker for the Warriors (4-0).
"He hit his shots. That's the bottom line," said Lee, whose team drops to 3-1. "We played aggressive defense and went after people. The difference between this game and the other three games we've played is he hit his shots.
"He did his job."
Brookfield coach Chris Fahndrich said his team's 16 assists also showed good ball distribution.
"As a team, we're sharing the ball," Fahndrich said. "When we're sharing it like that, the game becomes easier."
And, Brookfield outrebounded Mathews, 41-18. Brookfield's 6-8 senior Preston Sirochman had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Warriors. He and his teammates combined for 17 offensive rebounds.
"I don't even want to look at our stats on rebounding," Lee said. "It's going to be bad. That's something we're going to have to look at in the next few days - rebounding and physical play.
"Second-chance points have to be through the roof."
Brookfield started the game on a 9-0 run as Mathews was 0 of 2 from the floor with 6 minutes, 39 seconds left in the first quarter.
Cole O'Dell was held to four points at halftime, but Zach Youngs and Aaron Suchanek each had nine at the break. O'Dell rolled in the second half and ended with a team-high 20 points, while Youngs added 16. Suchanek put in 14.
"They have some nice players that can shoot it from out there," Fahndrich said. "We had to take them off of their spot. I thought we did a real nice job of getting them out of hand and making them put it on the ground and kind of dictating what we wanted them to do."
Michael Johnson added 10 points and nine rebounds for Brookfield, while Ryan Mosora added 10.
Friday, Conneaut travels to Brookfield, while Lordstown is at Mathews.
