GAME OF HOPE CLASSIC: The Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley is announcing the NOMINATE-A-PLAYER honoree for the eighth annual Game of Hope Charity Basketball Classic. The Game of Hope Classic is a charity basketball game that benefits chronically / terminally ill children, so that they may have experiences generally afforded by healthy children. The event will take place on Feb. 4 at Beeghly Center on the campus of Youngstown State University with the teams being comprised of local elected officials, community leaders, dignitaries and media, with tip-off at 4:30 p.m.
This award is given to the person who donates their time and effort to their respective community. That individual gets to participate in the basketball game on the same team as leaders and notables. It is a way to give back to the community by recognizing their involvement through the work they have done in the community.
The game will be televised via tape delay on Time Warner, Armstrong Cable, PTV and Comcast Feb. 26 and will reach a viewing audience of nearly one million people. Check hopemv.org for channels and times.
To nominate someone for this award, please go to the Hope Foundation website at www.hopemv.org and click the NOMINATE-A-PLAYER link. All entries must be received by Dec. 23.
