Teens from the St. Mary's Church Teen Vision, St. Pius X Youth Group, and John F. Kennedy High School's Prolife Club joined others around the nation on October 2, 2011 for the annual Life Chain.
The Life Chain is a peaceful protest of abortion held at the beginning of October each year. Participants hold signs with slogans such as "Abortion Kills Children," and "Adoption: the Loving Option," to commemorate October as Respect Life Month.
This year's Warren Life Chain was held from 2:30 to 3:30 P.M. on Elm Road. Despite the rain, many people turned out to stand up for what they believe in. This was the twenty fourth year nationally for the event, the twenty first year in Trumbull County, the third year of participation for both the St. Pius and St. Mary's Youth Groups, and the first year for the JFK Prolife Club.
Although it is a primarily Christian event, the Life Chain gives all adults and teens alike the chance to stand up against something they believe is wrong, as well as to be active in their churches and communities.
