Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. and Dorothy Marlowe Sr. of Girard celebrated their 55th anniversary on Sept. 8, 2011, at a dinner with family members at Station Square in Liberty.
The couple were married Sept. 8, 1956, in Beaver Falls, Pa.
In 1972, they moved to the Vienna area, where they operated an auction and also had owned and operated Marlowe's Appliance Store for many years. Mrs. Marlowe retired in 1995 after 23 years.

The couple raised four children, Tom Jr. (Beckey), Sharon Grove and Susan Fabian. A son, Jeffrey, is deceased. They also have eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
They both enjoy spending time with their family and traveling.
