Page One is probably the best thing that a teen who wants a job in journalism can do.
Page One is filled with students from grade 9-12, from many different schools in the area with one common interest - the love for writing.
In order to join the staff of Page One, students must complete the workshop that begins on Thursday.

Last year’s staff and workshop members met U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan at a special press conference at the Tribune Chronicle offices in Warren.
Upon completion of the workshop, the student must then go through a staff interview.
In the workshops, you will learn everything you need to know about writing the perfect news article and the right questions to ask for interviews.
Page One is filled with tons of young teens who love writing. In Page One, we all work together to make the page the best we can. We can also do a variety of group pages on different topics, such as 'the color page,' Valentine's Day, and 'the pet page.'
Page One staff get to meet once a week, bouncing off various story ideas and topics. One of the meeting topics we tackled last year was cupcakes. The discussion turned into a competition of who could make the better cupcakes. Thus, Cupcake Wars was born.
We look forward to repeating the competition this year.
In Page One you also get to meet kids from different schools and become friends. You become so close that in fact, some of my closest friends were made at Page One.
This upcoming year, we are planning to start work in video. We will be making newscasts with events going on at our schools. We also will have short skits on things that have to do with journalism.
If Page One sounds like something that you would like to be a part of, bring your parents and come to the informational meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Tribune Chronicle, 240 Franklin St. N.E., Warren.
The registration fee of $20 is for any materials and field trips.
The workshops will continue on the first and third Thursdays of the month through March 2012. There will be an addition registration night held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 29.
