Sam and Lucille Ragozine of Niles celebrated 65 years of marriage on Sept. 7, 2011, with a Mass and a renewal of their vows in the same church that they were married in, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.
Following Mass and a special blessing by the Rev. Larry Frient, the family celebrated with dinner at Cafe 422. The couple were joined by their five children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sam is originally from Girard and was awarded three Purple Hearts as a World War II veteran. He continues to compete in bocce every week.
