Ahhveterinarians. Where you pay $300 for your little kitten to be safe from things like feline distemper, rhinotracheitis, and feline leukemia (things you really never hear of unless your at the vets).
You might pay another hundred here and there to protect from heartworms and fleas.
I'm really not one for veterinarians.

Mr. Gimpy the Cat Photo by Taylor Ainsley
When I got my first kitten the vet screamed profanities at her when she wouldn't get out of the cageMy memories don't get much fonder. I live in a rather nice community.
No police raids and "niceish" people; but lately we've been having stray cats running rapid.
In the past four, maybe five months we've had two injured. Both of which are now in great care of people that love them.
When the second cat was injured, my family reached out to help. The cat was mainly at our house and was very friendly. One day it came back to our house refusing to use its front paw which was a bloody mess.
We started calling the vets. They all wanted an arm and a leg, and whenever we asked who the receptionist knew that could possibly be cheaper they sent us to another number that sent us right back to the first office.
No one wanted to help this cat, whether it be putting it out of its misery or checking if its leg was infected without a big fee up front. We weren't asking for a handout, but a reasonable price would have been nice.
The cat was dubbed Mr. Gimpy.
My grandparents are huge animal lovers. They have four cats and one dog, all of which were strays. When they saw the cat, they started making phone calls too. After about two weeks we finally found a good vet.
In fact, they were great. I've never seen a veterinarian office where everyone was truly dedicated to helping animals and improving their lives, but All Creatures in Champion was proudly my first. They discussed all our options before handing us the bill, and let us know beforehand what was necessary for this cat to have.
Mr. Gimpy had been caught in a trap (so please buy traps that only catch, not harm). He miraculously made it out with only an injured paw. He was neutered before he turned stray. I'd like to be furious with the people that set this wonderful cat loose, but with so many ridiculously expensive veterinarians that are really only looking for money, I understand why.
All Creatures really isn't that place, and I'd like to thank them for restoring my faith in humanity.
This country is getting poorer, but necessities are only getting more expensive. Doctors don't see patients without a certain kind of insurance, and hospitals are starting to turn people away too.
A note to humanity - act more humane!
It's about time we all work together instead of against each other. It might actually get us somewhere
Mr. Gimpy is now slowly healing in the care of two wonderful grandparents; and I know he's found the best home a cat could ask for.
