Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Kovack of Vienna celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends on Aug. 6, 2011.
Richard Kovack and the former Mary Ellen Hinkle were married Aug. 26, 1961, at St. Bernadette Church in Masury by the Rev. John Welsh.
The couple has five children, Gary Kovack of Fowler, Karen (Steve) Protiva of West Farmington, David Kovack of North Carolina, Rick Kovack of Fowler and Sharon (Ray) Palo of Cortland. They also have five grandchildren.

Mr. Kovack retired from General Motors in 2000. He enjoys fishing, bowling and playing cards.
Mrs. Kovack is a homemaker. She enjoys bowling, playing cards and casinos.
