Mr. and Mrs. Ron Merritt of Warren celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2011.
Ron Merritt and the former S. Jean Whisenhunt were married at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Huntington, Ind., on July 1, 1961.
Ron received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and was employed for 33 years with the former Packard Electric Division of General Motors Corp.
Jean was employed with American Greeting Cards and Hart's Jewelers and volunteered for many years with Warren City Schools.
The couple celebrated with their three children, Michelle (John) Buckler of Illinois, Michael (Elizabeth) Merritt of Warren and Melissa Baritell of Warren. They also have eight grandchildren and enjoy spending time with their family and friends.
