Mr. and Mrs. Richard Woofter of Mecca recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Richard Woofter and the former Alice Clare Hubbard were married on June 21, 1941, in New Lyme.
The couple have two children, Rita (John) of Aurora and Curtis (Karen) of Mecca. They also have five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Woofter retired after 50 years from Stanwade Metal Products in Hartford. Mrs. Woofter retired from Maplewood High School having served as a secretary there for 20 years.
