The engagement and upcoming marriage of Mary Patterson and Jim Johnston are being announced by the bride-elect's parents, Harry and Juanita Hardway of Fowler.
Parents of the groom-elect are Shirley Johnston of Vienna and the late James Johnston.
Both are 1974 graduates of Mathews High School.

Ms. Patterson is employed at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
Mr. Johnston is employed by Quality Switch in Newton Falls.
The couple will be united in marriage during a wedding ceremony to be held Aug. 27, 2011, at The Hartford United Methodist Church. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and a reception to follow at The Fisherman's Cove.
