The engagement and upcoming marriage of Rachel Lynn Gordon and Jeffrey Robert States are being announced by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary M. Gordon of Newton Falls and the groom-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James A. Smith of Canfield. The groom-elect is also the son of the late Robert C. States.
Miss Gordon is a Newton Falls High School graduate and is employed by Covelli Enterprises as a bookkeeper.
Mr. States graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in education. He is a junior high math teacher and the high school athletic director for Windham Exempted School District.

The couple will be married during a wedding ceremony to be held on Aug. 6, 2011, at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown. Invitations will be issued for the ceremony and a reception to follow.
