LEED was created to promote environmentally and energy efficient buildings and is the internationally recognized distinction that provides independent third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures.
Located in Austintown, Partners for Urology Health is a joint venture of Humility of Mary Health Partners, NEO Urology Associates Inc., and Advanced Urology Inc., that provides care to men diagnosed with prostate cancer.
There are four levels of certification based on a points system: 40-49 points, Certified; 50-59 points, Silver; 60-79 points, Gold; and 80 or more points, Platinum.
Elements that make a building LEED eligible include a sustainable site, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation and design process.
Some of the primary elements that made Partners for Urology Health LEED eligible include special parking for energy efficient vehicles, a bike rack for alternative transportation, an expanse of windows for interior day lighting and a recycling station.
