HOWLAND SCHOOL RETIREES MEET: Howland Schools Retirees will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Enzo's.

All retired school personnel, spouses/guests can attend the monthly meetings of the group, which meets the first Tuesday of every month, except July, when it will meet on July 12. Cost of the lunch, payable at the door, is $10 with a choice for three to four entrees offered.

An update will be given on the HCSF breakfast at which a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by Howland Schools retired personnel was awarded to Nikita Dhami, Howland High School graduating senior. The collection of non-perishable food and household supplies brought to the meeting will be delivered to Beatitude House, Warren. Petitions to put a referendum concerning Senate Bill 5 on the November ballot will be available to sign by those wanting to do so. SENIOR OUTREACH WELCOMES CHURCH MEMBERS: The SOC (Senior Outreach Citizens) of Champion Presbyterian Church invites and welcomes members of the Champion community and the church family to its meeting Monday in the church social hall. This month, celebrate summer with a picnic. Meat, buns and drinks will be provided. Bring a covered dish to share. The topic will be titled "The Hands of Time - The Early Clock Industry in Trumbull County." Chris Klingemier, a staff member of YSU as a guest lecturer and an active member of Historical Society of Trumbull County, will be the presenter.

AUTUMN HILLS OFFERS CONCERT SERIES: Autumn Hills Care Center is offering a free ''Rockin' The Lawn" summer concert series to be held 7 to 7:45 p.m. June 12 and 7 to 8 p.m. June 26, July 10 and 17. Attendees should bring blankets or lawn chairs.

SENIOR LUNCHEON SET: Sally Thomas from the Sutliff Museum will be the guest speaker at St. Joseph's Hospital Seniors Luncheon at 2:30 p.m. June 14 at St. John Orthodox Church, 2220 Reeves Road N.E., Warren.

Thomas' topic will be the Underground Railroad. Cost for lunch is $4 per person. Reservations are due by June 10 and can be made by calling 330-841-4375 or 330-841-4376.

PERI TO?MEET: PERI monthly meeting will be held at 11:15 a.m. June 15 at DiLucia's Restaurant, 2610 Elm Road N.E., Warren. Speaker will be Rachel Larman, doctor of pharmacy.

TMH RETIREES TO MEET: A luncheon meeting of the Trumbull Memorial Hospital Retiree Club will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 13 at Buena Vista Cafe in Warren. The program will be bingo, and club officers for the coming year will be installed.

The club will not meet in July or August.

LAKE VISTA OFFERS BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT: Lake Vista of Cortland Bereavement Support Group meets from 1 to 2 or 6 to 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month in the multipurpose room of Park Place.

FREE LUNCHES OFFERED: Ward Center Presbyterian Church, 490 Lucy St., Masury, will serve free lunches for those 60 and older from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the third and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

RETIRED TEACHERS SPONSOR BEE: The Trumbull Retired Teachers Association is accepting registration for the 2011 Trumbull County Fair Spelling Bee. The 25th annual spelling bee will be held at 1 p.m. June 30 at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Pre-registration will take place through Saturday.

Pre-registration will allow free fair admission (rides not included) for all preregistered spellers, grades one through eight. To pre-register, call Denise Deltondo at 330-530-4011.

Students wishing to participate in the bee may do so even if they have not preregistered. They can register at the fair on June 30 from noon to 12:45 p.m. on the historical stage.

All participants receive a gift bag of coupons and treats.

NUTRITION PROGRAM: The Trumbull County Nutrition Program for the Elderly is provided by the Trumbull County Office of Elderly Affairs and operates nutrition sites at 10 locations throughout Trumbull County. These sites provide a meal and the opportunity for socialization. Donations will be accepted.

Any senior citizen 60 and older and spouses of those 60 and older are welcome for lunch at any of the following sites:

All those 55 and older are welcome. Annual dues are $12.

Meals are served about noon at the Kinsman Fire Hall. A donation for the meal is accepted and the doors open at 10 a.m. Cards and bingo are played every day, and singing is on Wednesdays. FARMINGTON SENIOR CENTER

Open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Mondays.

TUESDAY: 10:30 a.m., exercise class and quilting, cards and crafts; 6 p.m., cards, players' choice.

Three computers with free Internet are available every day.

The SCOPE Senior Center is seeking volunteers to help seniors in the area make lap robes and walker caddies for the Shepherd of the Valley nursing home. No sewing ability is needed, just a desire to learn. The group meets at 1 p.m. every Monday.

Another area of need is the chorus. The chorus sings at Briarfield at the Ridge once a month to entertain the residents. They also perform at the center and whenever needed in the Niles community. The chorus meets at 1 p.m. every Friday.
